Care Instructions
Individual Storage:
Always store each jewelry piece separately to prevent them from rubbing against each other, causing scratches or tangles. It's best to use the ALARITA soft-lined box or pouch for this purpose. Take special care with gemstones to avoid them knocking against one another during storage. Additionally, remember to fasten your chains to prevent tangling.
Humid Environments:
If you live in a humid environment, consider storing your jewelry alongside a small packet of desiccant crystals. These crystals can help minimize tarnishing caused by humidity.
Gold Vermeil and Silver Care:
Keep your gold vermeil and silver jewelry in a cool, dry, and dark place. Over time, sterling silver naturally develops oxidation and tarnish. To slow down this process, store silver jewelry in an airtight box or sealed plastic bag when not in use. Regular wear also helps prevent oxidation. However, if your jewelry is stored for extended periods, occasional cleaning is advised to maintain its shine and prevent oxidation.
Protective Plating:
All our ALARITA sterling silver jewelry is coated with 18k gold or platinum, providing protection against exposure and reducing the risk of long-term tarnishing.
Chemical Exposure:
Jewelry is vulnerable to damage from chemicals found in products like perfume, hairspray, makeup, nail polish remover, body oils, sun tan lotion, and deodorant. Avoid contact with these substances to preserve your jewelry's condition.
Sunlight Exposure:
Avoid storing jewelry in direct sunlight, as prolonged exposure can cause certain gemstones to fade and lose color. Gemstones such as amethyst, rose quartz, chalcedony, and smokey quartz are particularly susceptible to becoming paler due to sunlight exposure.
